Angelica archangelica


An impressive, biennial herb with large pinnately divided leaves and upright, hollow stems.
Angelica produces large rounded umbels of greenish flowers in early summer.
The sweet-tasting stems can be candied. Stems, roots and seeds can be used to flavour liqueurs and aquavits. Leaves can be used in salads and omelettes.
Native to northern Europe.
