An ancient vegetable that is closely related to tomatoes. It is native to Mexico, where it has been cultivated for thousands of years.
Tomatillo grows tomato-like fruits that are surrounded by a papery husk, which dries and splits at maturity. This variety grows tasty, yellow fruits.
The fruits are used in salsas, soups, salads etc...
Here in northern Europe tomatillos are often greenhouse-cultivated, but we actually think they grow much better in a sunny spot outside.
